SMALL businesses looking to overhaul old technology and streamline their operations are vying for a free makeover to improve business systems.

As part of the makeover, telco giant Telstra will conduct an assessment of a small number of businesses and offer some of the latest Telstra network services for free in the next 12 months. Businesses will also share their technology changes with customers and industry via an interactive website and online blogs. Small businesses with up to 100 employees can apply for the makeover.

Telstra Gold Coast general manager Samantha Kennedy says while technical specifications of the networks are recognised around the globe, many Australian small business people find it hard to imagine how world-class technologies can transform their daily operations.

Applications close on September 7.
