GOLD Coast-based company Groundwater Treatment Solutions (GTS) has evolved as a market leader in the filtration of groundwater from construction and building sites for the benefit of our environmental waterways. Its technology provides the optimal service level for ground water filtration.

Local, state and federal authorities are making sure ground water removed from the water table and pumped into the city's canal, stormwater or sewerage systems meets minimum quality requirements.

Thanks to an Australian Government AusIndustry Commercialising Emerging Technologies (COMET) grant of $64,000, GTS is commercialising its innovative technology to help customers fulfill those requirements.

GTS provides water treatment solutions for construction site and civil project de-watering operations. The COMET grant, awarded in June last year, has helped the company fund market analysis, research into demand and client requirements, prototype development, product improvements, development of a business plan, a review of intellectual property protection strategies and company restructuring.

GTS established a company vehicle in February and appointed a chief executive officer to fast-track commercialisation of its technology to provide a leading solution to a broader client base.

Thanks to a substantial investment in research and development, improved products and the continued support of AusIndustry, GTS is well positioned to lead the market and give customers a solution to their regulatory water discharge requirements.

Environmental protection of the city's waterways, addressed through the appropriate management of discharge waters, will continue to provide significant short and long-term benefits.
