TEENAGERS Jack Hockley and Ben Lukoszek this year launched their company Grom Biz: a start-up company focused on delivering world-class innovative products to the skate-boarding and surfing markets. The pair manufacture, market and sell their flagship product, the Scriber: the first skateboard in the world with turnable steering. The skateboard is a conventional size, but has adjustable height, steering and axle lengths. It can be personalised to move the way you like, and can even be changed to feel like you are riding in different modes, such as surfing, snowboarding or wakeboarding.

Jack Hockley says the Scriber has the potential to replace every conventional skateboard in the world. It already has 30 retailers in Australia, but as Grom Biz is a web-based shop, it is attracting orders from around the world. It has been particularly popular in Europe. Grom Biz will launch and distribute the Scriber in the all-important United States market in September, and based on its web sales from the U.S. it will be equally as popular there as in Europe. The Scriber has been well recognised for its ingenuity, appearing on television programs Beyond Tomorrow, The Today Show, Scope, Totally Wild, Toasted TV, as well as in a range of print media.
