WESLEY Weight Management Clinic has made its first foray into the Gold Coast - opening its doors last month at Brockway House Specialist Medical Centre in Southport.

The Southport clinic in Queen Street is the company's fourth centre to open in South East Queensland. The organisation first began its operations in 1999 and now has offices in Milton, Brisbane, Clayfield and Southport. The Gold Coast-based operation is a $1 million commitment for the company, including a six year lease and fit-out of the premises.

The weight management facility covers a total of 300 square metres of floor space and comprises a seminar room, reception, four dietetic consulting rooms and one medical practitioners room, gymnasium, performance laboratory, changerooms and client car parking.

Managing director, Mr Neil Holt, said Wesley Weight Management had a vision to open clinics throughout Australia to help people establish and maintain healthy weights and lifestyles and to reduce the obesity epidemic. "The Gold Coast Clinic has the capacity to treat up to 750 clients on a one on one basis per year," he says "Our plan is to further expand the practice on the Gold Coast in the near future, with possibly another two clinics on the northern and southern ends of the Coast."
