AWARD-winning theme park Dreamworld has been named as Queensland's best specialty venue.

After taking out the prestigious national award three years in a row, Dreamworld became the first venue inducted into the MEA Hall of Fame in 2004 when it was voted best specialty venue. The park was eligible to re-enter this year and will once again represent Queensland at the national awards, in Hobart next month.

Dreamworld and WhiteWater World national events manager Jennifer Neville, who accepted the award, says it recognises the work done to redefine the park as an all-encompassing entertainment venue.

"We are extremely proud, honoured and humbled to be chosen by our industry peers among a field of amazing venues," she says.

"We have positioned ourselves as a leading corporate venue, creating a host of experiences that capitalise on and exceed people's expectations of the brand. We are thrilled to receive recognition for this important part of our business."

Ms Neville says credit for the award must go to Dreamworld's 'wonderful team', which works tirelessly to deliver an unforgettable experience for guests.

"We are focused on expanding our business and introducing brand-new concepts to keep the venue and the destination fresh and alive," she says.

Dreamworld was also named best major tourist attraction and best meetings and business tourism provider at this year's Queensland Tourism Awards. It was also named Gold Coast business of the year at the Gold Coast Business Excellence Awards.

Ms Neville says the park is thrilled to be recognised for maximising the business tourism experience and achieving growth in overall domestic and international meetings and conference delegates to the park and the destination.
