AT its recent annual general meeting, Restaurant & Catering Queensland, Gold Coast Branch, elected Paul Ierna its new chairman. A new committee was also elected: Nathan Irvine from Hedges @ Mermaid; Alan Schrader from Grumpy's Wharf; Glen Day from the Aztec, Broadbeach; Surjit Dhillon from the Tandoori Place; Liz Butler from Lizzie's Restaurant and Bar; Matt Dagg from the Northcliffe Surf Life Saving Club; Jason Solman from the Gold Coast Arts Centre; Nino Miano from Volare Restaurant; and John Omeros from Omero Bros.

The Gold Coast Branch has been active promoting the local industry and gaining extensive industry representation in the past year. It has also hosted a number of large events, including the successful Tastes of Gold Coast festival.
